Refund & Warranty Policy

Refund & Warranty Policy

Last updated: April 2026

1. Overview

Metforce Pty Ltd is committed to providing high-quality balustrades, handrails, pool fencing, and architectural metalwork products and installation services. We warrant that our products meet Metforce specifications and relevant Australian Standards, and that all our installations comply with BCA and AS codes. This policy outlines the terms under which warranties, refunds, and claims are handled.

2. Product Warranties

Stainless Steel Components

Metforce warrants all stainless steel fittings, tubes, latches, and spring hinges for a period of 10 years from the date of installation. All stainless steel products are supplied in the grade as specified, invoiced, and certified.

Glass Panels – Toughened

Glass panels are warranted for a period equal to the manufacturer’s warranty, which is typically 10 years under the same building or property ownership. This warranty does not cover glass breakage after installation unless it can be demonstrated that breakage occurred due to a manufacturing fault in the glass.

Glass Panels – Laminated

Laminated glass is warranted for a period equal to the manufacturer’s warranty, which is typically 5 years, subject to certain conditions. As with toughened glass, this warranty does not cover breakage after installation unless caused by a manufacturing fault.

Powder Coated Stainless Steel

Powder coated stainless steel finishes are subject to the powder coater’s warranty terms. Please note that powder coating does not always adhere well to stainless steel surfaces, and warranty coverage may be limited. Speak to our team for specific guidance on your project.

Installation and Workmanship

Metforce warrants all labour and workmanship for a period of 5 years from the date of installation. This covers defects in installation methodology, fixing, and assembly carried out by the Metforce team.

3. Warranty Exclusions

This warranty does not cover:

  • Glass breakage resulting from improper handling or usage after installation
  • Damage caused by chemicals, grinding or fabrication splatter, contamination, or improper handling by others after installation
  • Tea-staining on stainless steel surfaces — tea-staining typically occurs due to environmental factors outside of our control. Please refer to our technical notes for guidance on treating and preventing tea-staining
  • Products with satin or brushed finishes used in external applications, which have a higher probability of tea-staining, including wire rope
  • Normal wear and tear appropriate to the material and environment
  • Damage caused by unauthorised modifications, repairs, or alterations by third parties
  • Cosmetic variations inherent to the material
  • Damage resulting from structural movement or failure of the building or substrate to which the product is attached
  • Damage caused by events beyond reasonable control, including severe weather events, vandalism, or accidental impact

4. Making a Warranty Claim

If you believe a Metforce installation or product has failed to conform to our specifications, please notify us in writing within the warranty period. Include:

  • Your name and contact details
  • Your project address
  • The approximate date of installation
  • A description of the issue
  • Photographs showing the defect
  • The approximate date the issue was first notice

At our discretion, Metforce will either repair the issue, supply and install a replacement product of the same or similar type, or provide a refund for the affected component. Where a replacement product is installed, the warranty will extend for the balance of the original warranty period.

5. Independent Testing

In the event that a customer requests independent inspection or laboratory analysis and the product is found to meet Metforce specifications, the cost of such testing will be the customer’s responsibility.

6. Refunds

Refunds may be available in the following circumstances:

Projects not yet commenced: If you cancel your project before manufacturing or installation has commenced, a full refund will be provided. If manufacturing has already commenced, a partial refund may be available depending on the stage of production and materials already purchased.

Defective installation: If an installation is found to be defective and cannot be rectified within a reasonable timeframe, a refund will be provided for the affected portion of the project.

Custom and made-to-order products: Due to the bespoke nature of most Metforce projects, refunds are generally not available for custom or made-to-order products that have been manufactured to your specifications, unless the product is defective.

7. Limitation of Liability

Metforce does not accept liability for incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from product or installation failure. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Metforce’s liability under this warranty is limited to the repair or replacement of the defective product or installation, or a refund of the original project price for the affected component.

8. Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in this policy limits or excludes any rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010). If a product or service you received from Metforce has a major failure, you are entitled to a replacement or refund. If the failure is not major, you are entitled to have the issue rectified within a reasonable time.
